Equinor Signs Collaboration Agreements with TechnipFMC and Aker Solutions

The Equinor Group announced on 26 September 2018 that it has signed collaboration agreements with TechnipFMC and Aker Solutions in the field of equipment and subsea services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) and internationally. The work will focus on improving safety, quality, costs and technology, from design to project execution and underwater operations.

For several decades, subsea technologies have been at the heart of the development of Equinor and NCS, the Norwegian group insists in a statement issued on September 26, 2018.

Equinor operates nearly 600 subsea wells, which represents a considerable part of the total production of the company ".

In 2017, the Norwegian group and its partners approved more than NOK 90 billion worth of NCS projects. In addition, underwater purchases for the Johan Castberg, Snorre Expansion, Askeladd and Troll Phase 3 projects alone accounted for one third of the world market last year.

"We rely on many years of good cooperation with two of the world's leading suppliers in the submarine segment"said Margareth Øvrum, executive vice president of Equinor in charge of Technology, Projects and Drilling, in the statement already quoted.

"With TechnipFMC and Aker Solutions, we aim to continue to develop current solutions and keep up the pressure on continuous improvement to enable profitable future projects"continued the leader.
